What the discount calculator shows
The discount calculator shows the discount amount, the sale price, the original price and the discount percentage used in the calculation. The formula is currency-neutral: it uses the numbers you enter and does not perform currency conversion.
How to use the calculator
Enter the price before the discount and the discount percentage. The discount percentage can be from 0 to 100. The calculator returns the amount saved and the price after one discount has been applied.
How the discount is calculated
- Discount amount = original price × discount percentage / 100.
- Sale price = original price - discount amount.
- A 0% discount leaves the price unchanged.
- A 100% discount makes the sale price zero.
Examples
- Original price 100 with 20% off → discount 20, sale price 80.
- Original price 249 with 30% off → discount 74.70, sale price 174.30.
- Original price 59.90 with 15% off → discount 8.99, sale price 50.92.
Original price, discount and final price
The calculation starts from the original price. The discount percentage tells what share of that price is subtracted, and the final price is the original price minus the discount amount. This calculator does not calculate the discount percentage between two prices.
Limits and rounding
The calculator handles one discount percentage at a time. It does not include shipping, payment fees, campaign conditions, member prices, later taxes, currency conversion or several consecutive discounts. Displayed results are rounded to two decimals.

How do I calculate the discount amount?
Multiply the original price by the discount percentage and divide by 100.
Can the discount be more than 100%?
No. In this calculator the discount percentage can be at most 100%.
Does the calculator handle multiple discount codes?
No. It calculates one discount at a time. Campaign rules and additional discounts need separate checks.
