IBAN checker
Validate IBAN format and check digits as a technical check, without confirming account ownership.
Check IBAN
The check is done in your browser. The IBAN you enter is not sent to the server.
This checker verifies only the technical format and check digits. It does not prove that the account exists, belongs to a specific recipient or that a payment is safe.
What the IBAN checker validates
IBAN is an international bank account number format. The checker validates the structure, country-specific length and MOD 97 check digits where supported by the IBAN standard.
Technical check only
A technically valid IBAN does not prove that the account exists, that the recipient is correct or that a payment is safe. Confirm payment details with the intended recipient or bank when needed.
Input format
Spaces are allowed for readability. The checker normalizes the value before checking the IBAN format and check digits.
What a valid result means
A valid result means that the IBAN passes the technical length and check-digit checks. It should still be compared with the account details provided by the recipient.
When to verify separately
For important payments, confirm the IBAN through a trusted channel. This tool does not identify the bank account owner, confirm account status or prevent payment fraud.
