What the IBAN checker shows
The IBAN checker shows the normalized and grouped IBAN, country code, expected length, actual length and MOD 97 check result. It helps you see whether the value has a technically valid IBAN structure for a supported country.
How to use the checker
Type or paste an IBAN and run the check. Spaces are allowed for readability, and letters are converted to uppercase before the technical validation is performed.
What is checked
The checker removes spaces, checks the two-letter country code, the two check digits, allowed characters and country-specific length. If the country code is in the length table, the IBAN MOD 97 check is performed.
Check digits and format
An IBAN starts with a country code, followed by two check digits and a national account number part. Different countries use different IBAN lengths. The MOD 97 check helps catch typing mistakes, missing characters and invalid check digits.

Limitations
The check is technical. It does not prove that the account exists, that the account owner is correct, that a payment will succeed or that a bank has answered in real time. The checker also does not perform a BIC or SWIFT lookup. Confirm payment details through a trusted source when needed.

Can I enter an IBAN with spaces?
Yes. Spaces are removed before validation and do not affect the result.
Can I use lowercase letters?
Yes. The checker converts letters to uppercase before validating the IBAN.
Does a valid result prove that the account exists?
No. A valid result only concerns technical format, length and check digits. It is not a confirmation from a bank, authority or recipient.
Can the checker validate IBANs from other countries?
Yes, when the country code is included in the checker's IBAN length table. Unsupported country codes show a separate error message.
